What is Healing?
Healing has been recognised and accepted by all cultures and traditions for millennia. In contemporary terms, it is recognised as a holistic complementary therapy, which may enhance your health on every level of being, by helping to restore balance in body, mind and spirit.
By transferring natural energy through to the recipient, the healer is making a silent but deep connection with a process, which can have profound results on a number of levels.
Where Does Healing Come From?
Energy is a force that operates all throughout the universe, that we can use to our benefit. There are many words describing this energy; it is the belief of all healers however that this energy has the potential to help all, irrespective of personal perspective or philosophy.
Nothing is asked of the recipient except perhaps openness to the possibility of change, and to whatever may emerge from within the energetic process.
What Can Healing Do?
Those who come for healing bring a wide range of issues and conditions. Healers do not diagnose, prescribe or promise a cure; clients however often report positive changes, such as relief from pain, reduced anxiety and greater self esteem.
Everyday stresses and strains can leave you feeling drained and depleted, leading both to emotional exhaustion, as well as physical illness.
Healing can help you to let go of your anxieties, and restore a sense of proportion and perspective on life.
After healing, you may notice you are experiencing a much more positive and grounded connection with the world around you. It is unusual for Healing not to be helpful in some way.
With some clients a successful outcome is obvious, but for some change takes place at a more subtle level and sometimes in an unexpected way.
For those nearing the end of life, and equally for their friends and relatives, healing can offer a welcome sense of peace and tranquility.
What Happens During A Healing Session?
Healers begin each session with their hands on the recipient’s shoulders for a few moments, which enables them to attune to the energetic process.
Healers then work with hands at a short distance from the body, or sometimes, with permission, by light touch: clients are invited to relax and close their eyes, if they wish.
Most people experience a variety of sensations, perhaps warmth or coolness, tingling or pressure, or pain coming to the surface (and often dispersing) as the energy goes to work.
Some clients experience simply a gentle sense of relaxation. Afterwards, symptoms may become more pronounced for a short time as the healing energy brings tensions to the surface; this signals the release of sometimes deep stresses which may have gone unrecognised.
